DF Committee are responsible for the organisation and direction of the national DF movement, and at Althing 2024 – you can join them!
There’s tons of roles to fill – if you’re looking for experience to put on your CV, or just want to help DFs be the best it can be – look no further!
The following is a list of the roles up for election at this year’s event:
MEST-UP Coordinator – Lead the national MEST-UP team and organise workshops at DF events and beyond!
Supported by Shadow MEST-UP Coordinator
Events Representative – Oversee the organisation of Events (both Business and social), book venues and appoint and assist coordinators.
Supported by Shadow Events Representative
Shadow Treasurer – Train for a year under the current Treasurer to take up the role next september!
Safeguarding Representative – Manage any Safeguarding issues which arise in DFs, maintaining a point of contact between those affected, DF Committee and central Woodcraft.
Fundraising Representative – Coordinate DFs volunteering at Festivals on behalf of the movement, apply for grants and explore other cool things like DF merch!
Outreach Representative – Liaise with external organisations on behalf of DFs, helping us to become better known and understood whilst recruiting more people for the cause!
Training Representative – Coordinate and organise training sessions for the movement (e.g. MEST UP and First Aid)
Chair of DF Committee – Keep DF Committee moving forwards, lead the discussion at things and check in with the members of committee, making sure no one is overexerting themselves
Activism Representative – Represent DF’s within wider politics, ensuring our movement has a voice amongst other youth movements!
Laymember (even) – Help other members of committee with tasks when they need it. Ensure no one is overworked!
Communications Representative – Manage the DF online presence and branding, including posting, moderating and responding to messages and emails from the movement.
Non – Committee Roles:
Accessibility Representative – Ensure every decision Committee makes benefits everyone equally, and that events are as accessible as possible
Sustainability Representative – Ensure DF events act in the best interests of their natural environments
Venturer Liaison – Liaise with the venturer committee and answer any questions they have to ease their transitions into our movement
Represent your area as the London Liaison, Scotland Liaison, Wales Liaison or Manchester Liaison
General Council Representative – Represent the greater DF movement as a non-committee rep on Woodcraft Folk’s board of directors.
