Friends of the Folk

Do you know somebody who would want to give back to Woodcraft? Or somebody who would love to give young people opportunities? Maybe somebody who has taken a step back from volunteering but wants to stay involved?

Let them know about Friends of the Folk.

Woodcraft Folk has been running for 100 years. Through youth groups, residential centres, Campaigns, and events, young people are given a welcoming space to be themselves; developing confidence, learning new skills, building lasting friendships, connecting with nature, discovering the world around them, and having their voices heard.

But all this comes at a cost, and being a charity, we can’t do it alone.

As the charity embarks on its next chapter, do you know people who could become a Friend of the Folk and help this amazing youth work to continue? Joining the regular donation programme the easiest way to support this work, and it doesn’t cost much!

– Just £5 a month could gift a child a FREE residential every year

– £20 a month would fund a volunteer Training session for 20 people!

These crucial donations will help Woodcraft Folk to:

Coordinate incredible events, such as Camp 100, Venturer camp 2026 and Camp 2030. Additionally, making sure these events are accessible to all through our Access Funds, which subsidise camp fees and cover transport or equipment costs
Grow the movement, supporting all groups with recruitment campaigns, training, guidance and Fundraising
Plan for the future, to ensure the movement is financially sustainable and still here in 100 years!
Pays for staff time to: answer the Safeguarding phone line, manage the membership database with all the info volunteers need, provide fantastic adventures for Woodcraft Folk groups at our centres
Covers costs for opportunities for young people e.g. flights for young people to represent Woodcraft Folk at international committees & travel costs for young trustees to attend General Council meetings
