Winter Wonderland 2025 – RECAP

The Folk give Hull some new Winter Folklore.

Over 60 DFs made the perilous journey to Winter Wonderland 2025, hosted in Raywell Park Scout Activity Centre near Hull. We had attendees from far and wide, spanning the country from Newcastle to Exeter, Brighton to Manchester.

Our theme of “Folklore” gave programme plenty of ideas, we kicked off the event with a fantastic opening ceremony from Wilf, welcoming the Spirit of Woodcraft into our campstead, and bringing greetings once more from the folk of the North, South, East, and West.

Programme continued to impress with sessions about Woodcraft’s values, predicting the future of DFs through newspaper collages, and improv sessions around the campfire, which led to fun for everyone. On the last night, Gabriel led the DF New Year’s celebrations with a lovely, heart-warming campfire ceremony to reminisce on the good things of the last year, and our hopes and aspirations for the next.

Once again, DFs found more and more ways to entertain themselves when no activities were scheduled, including fire spinning, acrobatics, and a seemingly endless amount of Just Dance.
