DF Committee decides this will be the year that nothing goes wrong.
Over the weekend, last year’s DF committee met with the newly elected committee members in an event known as the Old/New. Hosted at Woodcraft Folk’s Darsham Centre, the turnout for the Old/New 2025 was fantastic, helping us to kickstart the movement into the new year.
The hardworking committee from last year used this weekend to give advice and bestow knowledge onto your new committee, particularly through one-on-one conversations between the old/new reps of each role. The event also gave a great opportunity for our new committee to get to know each other, and begin to form plans and ideas that will be implemented in the coming months.
Importantly, Committee ratified the Althing results for Chair:

We also discussed other Business, particularly setting provisional dates for future DF events and forming strategy for Communications, Events and Fundraising.
Key Decisions:
- Autumn Nocturne will be bigger than ever before, with a goal of 60 DFs attending.
- The Zine and Podcast will be published on the website as alternative ways to share news.
- DF Committee will encourage and support regional DF events; but unfortunately the national movement is not currently in a position to help financially.
- The DF Camp over summer will again be combined with the Althing to account for V-Camp 2026.
- There will be a push at certain camps to include both First Aid and MEST-UP Training, so keep an ear out for these opportunities!
- There will be more information coming about both forming and maintaining new DF groups so that you can stay involved year round.
Old/New has set DFs up for a very exciting and ambitious year. We hope to see you at events soon!!!
